Goodman Learning Center

Welcome to Goodman Learning Center at North Lamar ISD, where we provide comprehensive special education services for students with disabilities, from birth to age 22. Our dedicated team offers personalized support across multiple campuses to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Our highly skilled staff includes physical and occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, educational diagnosticians, and other specialists. Together, we are committed to helping every student reach their full potential through individualized support and tailored educational plans.

What We Provide

We proudly provide the following services:

  • Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE): Higgins Elementary
  • Pre-Kindergarten: Higgins Elementary
  • Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC): Higgins Elementary, Everett Elementary, Bailey Intermediate, Stone Middle, and North Lamar High School (NLHS)
  • Structured Language Class for Autism (SLC): Parker Elementary (Primary) and North Lamar High School (Secondary)
  • Behavior Adjustment Classroom (BAC): Bailey Intermediate and NLHS
  • Peer Mentoring: Bailey Intermediate, Stone Middle, and NLHS
  • Resource and Inclusion: Available at all campuses
  • Workshop: NLHS
  • Vocational Adjustment Class (VAC): NLHS
  • Eighteen Plus Program: NLHS

Who We Are

Meet our dedicated team at Goodman Learning Center! Our staff is composed of passionate professionals who are committed to providing exceptional support and services to students with disabilities at North Lamar ISD. Our team includes certified educational diagnosticians, speech and language pathologists, physical and occupational therapists, a teacher of the visually impaired, an orientation and mobility specialist, a school psychologist, and a licensed clinical social worker. Additionally, we have a transition coordinator who helps guide students as they prepare for life beyond school. Each member of our team brings specialized expertise and a deep commitment to helping students thrive by addressing their unique needs and fostering growth in every aspect of their education. Together, we work to ensure that every child receives the individualized care and attention they deserve.
