Title I Information

Title 1 School Wide Program

A Title 1 schoolwide program provides opportunities for all students in the school to meet Texas' high performance standards. Each elementary and intermediate school at North Lamar ISD is serving students through Title 1 schoolwide programs designed to benefit all children.

How Title 1 Works

The federal government provides funding each year to the state.  The Texas Education Agency sends money to local school districts based on the number of low-income families in the district.

The local school district identifies eligible schools and provides Title 1 resources based on the percentage of children from low-income families.

One goal of Title 1 is to involve parents in all aspects of the program including goal setting, planning, evaluation, volunteer opportunities and tips for working with children at home.
