Calling all North Lamar student writers! ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ“– Weโ€™re excited to launch a monthly writing contest where you can unleash your creativity and showcase your storytelling skills. Each month brings a new theme, and standout entries will be recognized and celebrated!
Entries are due November 15, which means there is still time to get an entry in!!!! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
Grades PreK-K (Draw a Picture)
โ€œDraw a picture of what you are most thankful for this fall.โ€
Grades 1-2 (1 page/250 words or less)
Imaginative Story: "Imagine you are a turkey trying to escape Thanksgiving dinner. Write a story about what you would do."
Grades 3-5 (1 page/250 words or less)
Expository: "November is National Kindness Month. Explain three ways you can show kindness to others at school or home."
Grades 6-8 (2 pages, 500 words or less)
Personal Narrative: "Write about a time when you felt especially grateful. What made you feel that way, and how did it affect you?"
Grades 9-12 (2 pages, 500 words or less)
Expository: "Veterans Day is observed on November 11th to honor military service. Explain why it is important to recognize this day and how it can be meaningful to the community."
