About the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees consists of seven members elected to serve, without compensation, for overlapping terms of three years each. Elections are conducted in May. Following the election, the board elects a president, vice-president and secretary to serve for one-year terms.

The next board of trustee election is scheduled for May 3, 2025 with three open seats for three years.

Candidate Eligibility for School Board Trustee

Residence - 1 year in state and 6 months in school district prior to filling deadline (Texas Elec. Code, Section 141.001)
Age - 18 years
Must be a registered voter in territory elected from by the filing deadline
A person is ineligible to serve as a member of the board of a district if the person has been convicted of a felony or an offense under Penal Code 43.021 (Ed. Code 11.066)

Application Process

Candidate filing period to file application for place on the ballot is: Wednesday, January 15, 2025 to Friday, February 14, 2025 - 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m (Friday, February 14, 2025 only 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
All applications filed are public records and open to inspection upon request.
Completed forms must be filed in the Roy C. Chadwick Administration Building at 3130 N Main, Paris, Texas 75460.
